FAQ’s

  • When provided by qualified professionals, chemical peels are safe and effective for various skin concerns. Choosing the right type of peel to complement your skin’s needs and sensitivities is crucial to avoid potential complications.

Rest assured, you’re in excellent hands with the Elevate Medical Aesthetics team. Whether you’re a first-timer or a repeat patient, we’ve got all your skin peel needs covered at our clinic.

  • The sensation during a skin peel can range from nothing at all to mild tingling, or a slight burning or stinging feeling. Light to medium peels may cause minor discomfort, often compared to the sensation of a mild sunburn. After the treatment, the skin may feel slightly tight with a sunburn-like sensation that typically subsides within a few hours.

  • After a skin peel, your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so it’s essential to apply sunscreen consistently to protect against hyperpigmentation. Avoid direct sunlight, including sunny beach holidays, for 2-4 weeks following the treatment. Activities such as using saunas, jacuzzis, and sunbeds are also not advised for at least 2 weeks. Additionally, any other aesthetic skin treatments on the same area should be postponed for 4 weeks to allow for proper healing.

  • The effects of a chemical peel aren’t permanent. Light peel results may last 1-2 months, while deeper peels might last from several months up to 10 years. As your skin continues to age, new skin concerns may develop over time. Maintenance peels and implementation of a good skincare routine can help prolong results.
